Privacy notice.

How TBCZ handles your personal information.

Last updated 27 October 2026. TBCZ will review this notice and publish any update on this page, with a new date.

Who we are

This notice explains how the Tourism Business Council of Zimbabwe (TBCZ), No. 157 Paternoster Court, J. Chinamano Ave / 7th Street, Harare, handles the personal information it collects through this website. TBCZ is responsible for that information.

What we collect

Only what you give us through the website’s forms. When you register for a TBCZ event: your name, email address, phone number, organisation and job title, your registration category, your association and whether you are a TBCZ member; we then keep the invoice and payment reference we issue to you. When you send an enquiry or ask for your status: your name, organisation, contact details and your message.

Why we use it

To run TBCZ events and membership, issue invoices and receipts, record and check payments, reply to you, keep the website secure, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. The website does not use your information for advertising.

Payments

You pay by bank transfer, quoting the payment reference on your invoice. If you upload a proof of payment, it is stored privately under a random file name, and only TBCZ’s finance staff can open it. We keep the payment reference, amount, method and date for our accounting records.

Digital Matchmaking

Opt-in only, and separate from the event terms. Only paid delegates and confirmed exhibitors who opt in take part. If you opt in, your name, organisation, job title and chosen contact details are shared only with other participants who have also opted in. Digital Matchmaking exchanges contact details; it does not book meetings. You can withdraw your opt-in by contacting us.

Signing in and security

TBCZ staff sign in with a password and a second step, such as an authenticator code or a passkey. Delegates sign in with a one-time link sent to their email address. Only TBCZ staff who need your information can see it, the website uses an encrypted connection, and we keep a record of sign-ins and of the changes staff make.

Cookies

The website uses only the cookies it needs to work: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and a short-lived payment-session cookie that keeps your place while you pay. Your browser also keeps a small note so that the opening introduction is not shown again. The website sets no analytics or advertising cookies.

Who we share it with

Service providers that run the website for TBCZ process your information only on our instructions: website hosting, the database, email delivery, and the security check that protects our forms from automated abuse. Some of them process information outside Zimbabwe. We do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

For as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for, and for as long as the law requires, for example for accounting and tax records. After that we delete it.

Your rights

Under Zimbabwe’s Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07] you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how we use it. You may also withdraw a consent you gave, such as your Digital Matchmaking opt-in. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may complain to the Data Protection Authority.
