SAFARI OPERATORS
ASSOSIATION OF ZIMBABWE

The Safari Operators Association of Zimbabwe (SOAZ) and its affiliated organizations play a key role in regulating and promoting ethical practices in the tourism and safari industries within Zimbabwe. Membership requires that operators comply with strict legal and professional standards, ensuring that visitors are engaging with reputable and responsible service providers. This includes having licensed professional guides, hunters, and couriers who are familiar with Zimbabwe’s legal frameworks and wildlife management practices. For tourists, verifying that a safari operator is a member of SOAZ and related organizations is a good indicator of the quality and legality of their services.

OPERATORS ASSOCIATION

The Zimbabwe Tour Operators Association (ZTOA) serves as a pivotal organization within Zimbabwe’s tourism industry, representing the interests of tour operators, wholesalers, and destination management companies. Established in 1993, ZTOA operates as a subsector body of the Zimbabwe Council for Tourism, focusing on advocacy, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement.

The association works closely with key entities, including the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Authority, the Department of Immigration, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, policymakers, enforcement agencies, and industry training institutions. Its efforts aim to ensure a supportive environment for its members, addressing challenges and opportunities in the tourism sector through dialogue, lobbying, and strategic partnerships.

By fostering relationships with sister associations and other stakeholders, ZTOA contributes to the sustainable growth and professionalization of Zimbabwe’s travel and tourism industry. Would you like to learn more about their initiatives or specific collaborations?

The Association of Zimbabwe
Travel Agents

The **Association of Zimbabwe Travel Agents (AZTA)** was established over 60 years ago by a collective of travel agents who sought to unite their efforts and create a single, powerful voice. This collaboration aimed to provide effective representation for its members, ensuring they had visibility and influence with suppliers and authorities in the travel and tourism sector.

The Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe

HAZ is the trade association representing and promoting the interests of owners and operators of hotels, restaurants, clubs and related establishments throughout Zimbabwe.  HAZ has been in existence for 71 years and represents a very important constituency, given the hospitality sector’s status as a major employer, earner of foreign currency and contributor to the national economy.
